Collective waiting room for child patients

All children were first brought into the collective waiting room, which was marked by a yellow flag and guarded to prevent children from leaving. Potential "pox bases," however, were led to the "pox base" waiting room after registration. Only very few children were allowed to bypass the collective waiting room--for example, those appointed by the town government to stand by at times of fire or rough weather to receive the vaccine and thus keep it alive.
